Description
A common fault on many Vauxhall models is a complete loss of communication with the engine ECU (ECM/PCM). When this occurs, the vehicle cannot be diagnosed using standard diagnostic equipment, making fault-finding difficult and preventing proper engine management.
Common symptoms include:
-
No communication with the ECU during diagnostics
-
Engine won’t crank or start
-
Dashboard warning lights stay on or don’t appear at all
-
Immobiliser active or stuck in security mode
-
No response from live data or module scan tools
This issue is usually caused by an internal failure of the ECU’s processor or communication circuit, not a wiring or power supply problem.
The ECU may appear completely “dead” to the vehicle, even if fuses and wiring are intact.
Our specialist ECU repair service can restore full communication and functionality, avoiding the high cost of dealer replacement and reprogramming.
